“The tour was great and well organised, pick-up location is in the city centre which was a 2 minute walk from my apartment. The BBQ included- reindeer sausages or corn and marshmallows and ginger cookies, they also provided hot juice. We had a clear night but the aurora activity was looking low, however we waited and managed to see and capture the northern lights. The photographer did a great job capturing memories for everyone. “On the way to the activity they put us on a bus with no heat. It was so cold we were all shivering and you could see your breath. The actual snowmobiling was good. The guide was great, a good safety briefing. Then we went on the trail to the lake which it was horrible. They do not service the trail it was very uncomfortable. The reindeer sleigh ride was serene and magical — slowly gliding through the snow-covered forest was like something out of a fairy tale. The reindeer were calm, well cared for, and the handlers shared interesting facts about them. The husky safari brought a whole different level of excitement. The dogs were full of energy and clearly loved to run. Riding through the snowy trails with them was exhilarating and beautiful. “There were 4 of us on our tour. Our tour guide Malcom (aka ‘Malc’) was friendly and seemed very knowledgeable about Northern Lights. Unfortunately, Malc was clearly not very experienced in the Korouoma Waterfalls tour that we were doing. He entered the incorrect destination address into his GPS and drove for another 1.5 hours beyond where we were due to stop. With only 4 hours of daylight in Rovaniemi at this time of year, we had wasted precious daylight hours with that error.
